IT’S MORE THAN A GREAT LOGO…IT’S AN
There are those who make noise and those who get noticed.
You want to attract your dream customers, but there’s just one tiny problem: your competitors are all out there shouting for their attention.
Exposed to a whopping 10,000 brand messages a day, to your dream customers it mostly all looks and sounds the same: it’s a lot of noise.
In order to function in a noisy world, they filter out everything that looks like it’s not specifically meant for them. Very few signals are allowed through.
Waking up to the sound of crickets each morning, entreprenuers assume what’s needed is to hustle harder and to shout louder.
If you’re planning to play that game, prepare yourself to feel overwhelmed, overworked, and defeated.
The question is, do you want to create more noise? Or do you want to get noticed?
The way to go from invisible to visible, the way to stand out is
AND I don’t mean PUTTING A LOGO ALL over everything and calling it good.
I mean doing the challenging internal work of figuring out:
HOW YOU’LL SHOW UP
AND BE SEEN
Your single greatest competitive adantage is that there’s only one you. Knowing your “you-ness” and putting it out there takes courage.
WHO YOU REALLY WANT TO SERVE
Everyone is not your customer, and you can’t get visible to just anyone. It means knowing who they are and really empathizing with them.
THE EXPERIENCE YOU
WISH TO CREATE
How is it different from what everyone else is offering? What does the future look like for both you and your customer?
Getting clarity for your own business is hard because you’re so close to it…
Who are you?!
Who do you want to be?!
WHAT DO YOU DO?!
WHY DOES IT MATTER?!
What makes you a special unicorn?!
WHO’S YOUR DREAM CUSTOMER ANYWAY?!
Some of these questions will get you stuck.
Fear, uncertainty, and decision paralysis will hold you back too.
Tough entrepreneurial stuff.
Naturally, we gravitate toward the things we can check of our list: “I know! I’ll hire someone to design a logo and build my website…”
That feels good because it makes a business feel real — it’s tangible. But without first getting crystal clear about the brand you wish to create, it’s like decorating your house before laying a foundation.
There’s almost always a breakdown in this process; it becomes frustrating and the end result often disappoints:
You’ll rely heavily on personal taste and preferences, but you won’t know how to bring your customers into the story.
You may love looking at it, but wind up attracting the wrong people (or no people at all).
YOU LACK CUSTOMER CLARITY.
(But isn’t it about them?)
Rather than honing in on your own super powers, you look around at what other people are doing so you can copy it.
This makes it all simpler, and it feels fun to follow our brand heroes, but you’ll end up with a cheap knock-off version of someone else’s brand.
YOU AREN’T OWNING YOUR OWN SUPER POWERS.
(But is this really the way to set yourself apart?)
You create something similar to what others in your industry are doing. It feels safe and familiar: “If it works for them, it’ll work for me.”
But to the customer, your generic brand just looks like:“Which one are you again?” Relevant to your industry, but totally forgettable. Zzzzzz…
YOU’RE AFRAID TO STAND OUT.
(But isn’t that, like… the whole point?)
WITHOUT CLARITY, IT’S JUST
For every piece of “you need to be doing___” advice you get, you’ll second-guess yourself. You’ll go down rabbit holes, you’ll try this, that, and the other thing to get noticed. And you’ll wake up wondering why your days are filled with so much activity but none of it is helping you create a business that’s truly fulfilling.
Wouldn’t it be nicer to know exactly what you “need to be doing”?
When you’re given advice, you know what to take and what to leave because you’re confidently the “CEO of YOU?”
To have your dream customers doing a double-take:“Hey! That’s for me!”
Attracting the right people. Doing work you love. Being seen by the people who need to see you.
Hell yes it would. *Cue Hallelujah*
STANDING OUT MEANS BEING UNIQUELY YOU, AND THAT TAKES SOUL-SEARCHING COURAGE
The long game isn’t to get likes, clicks, web traffic and praise for our beautiful logos and websites. Those things are all nice, but your competitors have those things too.
The ultimate goal of a stand-out brand is to become known for a thing that people will happily tell all their friends about and to create an experience that sets you apart from what everyone else is offering.
This will help you market your business above the noise.
This is the work I’m going to help you do.
No putting it aside and mulling it over — we’re going to make decisions and get it done so you can get out there and start doing it.
I’m not only going to ask you the right questions, I’m going to help you frame your thinking. And I’m going to work 1-1 with you to help you get past stuck points, hold you accountable, and guide you through the tough stuff.
When we’re through, you’ll have more than just a logo — although you’ll have that too, and it will be in fabulous alignment with the heart and soul of your business — you’ll have a branding playbook. It’ll keep you focused in a dizzying, noisy world and inform:
Your website design and copy
The things you say and how you say them
Where you show up and who you speak to
The types of things you share on social media
The service offerings you create and the ones you cull
The way you respond to feedback and reviews
How you sign your emails
Everything. It’ll inform all your actions.
All your actions = branding.
Simple as that.
Then… after you’ve done all this hard work, and while everyone else is still stuck and stabbing in the dark, it’s going to start getting easier for you. Dare I say it’s going to get fun! Everything you do will be deliberate.
That’s the way it is for a stand-out brand.
WAIT, LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR LOGO FOR A MINUTE ‘CAuSE I KNOW THAT’S WHY YOU CAME HERE…
I preach your logo is not your brand for a reason. It’s because I don’t want to create something precious for you that’s not going to help your business. If design is not solving business problems, it’s just decoration. So it’s important that before I sit down to the drawing board that we’re both clear before we move on to the “fun stuff.”
And oh yeah, it’s gonna get fun. And cool. And amazing. You’re going to be proud to show it off and slap it on a t-shirt.
Make no mistake, design is important. But when it’s holding hands with strategy, it’s powerful.
The design work we do will help you elevate, make the first impression, establish credibility and aid in memorability. Most importantly, it’ll help you differentiate. This means your logo I create for you — the most important symbol of your brand — will be hand-crafted and uniquely-you, I’ll be grounded with deep insight into who you are.
And don’t even worry — you’ll have plenty of opportunity to be a part of the creative process. We’ll refine and collaborate and have a jolly ol’ time until we’re both pleased-as-punch with the final result.
WHO THIS IS NOT FOR
You already plan to emulate what someone else is doing or model others in your industry.
You know what you want and just need a designer to execute your vision.
You’re too busy for all this, and would prefer for someone to do it all for you without your involvement.
You’re not interested in clearing some time to think deeply about your business and make big decisions.
You want a cookie-cutter solution.
In short, if it’s not easy you’re just not interested.
WHO THIS IS FOR
You’re starting or re-branding a small service-based business (a small but mighty consultancy, a coach, freelancer or creative professional) and…
You want to attract the right clients;
You’re open to letting go of what you “think you need” and trust the process;
You’re open to being challenged, and you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and do the work most people skip over;
You’re 100% committed to standing out, which means doing things that might feel a little scary — you’re not interested in being small and invisible.

CREATING YOUR STAND-OUT BRAND
There’ll be some self-study and some homework (I know, groan — but I promise, it’ll be worth it). The most common feedback I get from clients is that my process is fun. It’s not because I make it easy, it’s because I insist you do the hard work while everyone else is promising you it can be easy. You’ll feel accomplished, empowered, clear, and utterly psyched to get your business off to the best start possible.
From there, we’ll work through any stuck points and get crystal clear about your brand direction during 2 intensive 1-1 clarity sessions. Then, I’ll create your branding playbook and brand identity system so you have everything you need to take the exciting next steps in your business.
